    Barbados is an island in the Caribbean region, but it is located in the Atlantic, miles to the east of the Caribbean Sea. Its nearest neighbors are Saint Vincent and Saint Lucia, about 100 miles to the west, which are part of the Lesser Antilles arc that separates the Atlantic and the Caribbean.
